Survival Tips
- Before you head into the the wilderness, leave a detailed itenerary with
a responsible person including date, time, and place of departure, intended
route, and date, time and place of return. Other helpful information would
include the number of people in the party, experience/fitness levels, knowledge
of the area, vehicle I.D. and equipment carried/worn.
- Take a buddy (or two) with you. If one of your group gets hurt, you have
someone to go for help. If not, someone else's food always looks better.
- Check weather forecasts and road conditions. Be prepared for extreme changes
in weather.
- Obtain local and current trail info from a reliable source, and any needed
permits.
- If you get lost, or injured, stay put. We'll get your pertinent information
from the responsible party you left it with and we'll find you. The farther
you wander, the longer it will take us to find you.
